HOLY IN SPIRIT

Scripture
John 3:6–8 -“Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I told you that you must be born again. The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”


1 Corinthians 2:14 - “But the person without the Spirit does not receive what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated spiritually.”

 

Slow Read (Sit With the Text)

Read John 3:6–8 slowly, twice.

  • First reading: Notice the clear distinction Jesus makes between flesh and Spirit.

  • Second reading: Pay attention to the image Jesus uses—the wind.

 

Now sit quietly and repeat: “So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Allow the mystery to remain unresolved.

 

Heart Questions

  • Where am I frustrated because God has not made things fully understandable?

  • Do I struggle to trust what I cannot control, predict, or explain?

  • Am I willing to believe even when clarity comes later—or not at all?


Let the questions surface fear, not suppress it.

 

Spiritual Insight

Nicodemus is trying to pin down what Jesus says. Jesus refuses.

The Spirit is not managed, mapped, or mastered. You don’t summon Him.

You don’t schedule Him. You don’t explain Him away.

Spiritual life does not begin when everything makes sense. It begins when you trust the One who does. If belief required certainty, no one would ever be born again.

 

Prayer

Spirit of God, I confess how uncomfortable I am with mystery. I want explanations where You offer presence. Today, I loosen my grip on control. I release my demand for certainty.

I ask not to understand everything—but to trust You fully. Blow where You will. Do what only You can do. Make me alive to what comes from You.

Amen.

Name the Resistance

Take 2–3 minutes and answer honestly:

“What unanswered question or uncertainty do I struggle to trust God with?”

 

Don’t solve it. Simply acknowledge it before Him.

 

HEALTHY IN BODY

The Reset Posture

Pause once today for 5 intentional minutes.

  • Stand or sit still.

  • Place both feet firmly on the ground.

  • Breathe slowly.

 

With each inhale, pray: “Spirit, move in me.”

With each exhale, pray: “I release control.”

 

Let stillness teach trust.

 

Closing Posture

You don’t have to track the wind to feel it. You don’t have to explain the Spirit to be changed by Him. Belief begins where control ends.
