HOLY IN SPIRIT
Scripture
John 6:35 - “I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them. “No one who comes to Me will ever be hungry, and no one who believes in Me will ever be thirsty again.”
Matthew 5:6 -“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”
Slow Read (Identity & Hunger)
Read John 6:35 three times, slowly.
First reading: Notice what Jesus claims about Himself.
Second reading: Notice the promise Jesus attaches to coming and believing.
Third reading: Sit with this phrase: “I am the bread of life.”
Remain in silence for one full minute. Let the claim confront your expectations.
Heart Questions
What do I expect Jesus to give me before I trust Him?
Where do I still feel spiritually hungry or dissatisfied?
Do I want what Jesus gives—or do I want Jesus Himself?
Let these questions uncover desire, not shame.
Spiritual Insight
Jesus does not say: I give bread. I point to bread. I provide bread sometimes.
He says:“I am the bread.” This is not about provision. This is about identity. To come to Jesus is to stop searching elsewhere. To believe in Jesus is to trust that nothing else can satisfy what only He was meant to fill. Spiritual hunger is not a flaw. It is an invitation.
Prayer
Jesus, I confess how often I look to You for what You can give instead of resting in who You are.
Today, I bring You my hunger—my dissatisfaction, my restlessness, my longing. Teach me to come to You, not just ask from You. Teach me to believe that You alone satisfy. You are the bread of life. Fill me with Yourself. Amen.
WHOLE IN MIND
Name the Substitute
Take 2–3 minutes and answer honestly:
“What do I turn to when I feel empty, stressed, or discouraged?”
HEALTHY IN BODY
The Fasted Exchange
As hunger surfaces today—physical or emotional:
Pause
Pray
Read a short Scripture (even one verse)
Say quietly: “Jesus, You are my bread.”
Let hunger redirect you toward dependence.
Closing Posture
Jesus does not promise fullness apart from Himself.
He promises fullness in Him.
The bread you need is not something to receive— it is Someone to trust.
