HOLY IN SPIRIT

Scripture

John 6:53–55 -“I assure you: Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you do not have life in yourselves. Anyone who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day, because My flesh is real food and My blood is real drink.”

John 6:63 -
“The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.”

Slow Read (Surrender & Consumption)

Read John 6:53–55 three times, slowly.

  • First reading: Feel the weight of Jesus’ words.

  • Second reading: Notice the repeated connection between consuming and life.

  • Third reading: Sit with this phrase: You do not have life in yourselves.”

Remain silent for one full minute. Let resistance surface honestly.

Heart Questions

  • What parts of Jesus’ teaching do I find uncomfortable or difficult to accept?

  • Where do I want Jesus without fully surrendering to His way?

  • Do I want spiritual nourishment without spiritual dependence?

Let the Spirit uncover—not condemn.

Spiritual Insight

Jesus does not soften His words to keep the crowd. He intensifies them to reveal truth. “Eat” and “drink” are not about ritual. They are about dependence. To eat is to take something into yourself.

To drink is to rely on it for life. Jesus is saying: You cannot sample Me. You must receive Me fully. Faith that only admires Jesus will fade. Faith that consumes Him transforms.

 Prayer

Jesus, I confess that I want You on my terms— comforting, inspiring, but not costly. Today, I surrender my resistance. I don’t want a faith that keeps You at a distance. I want a faith that receives You fully. Teach me to consume—not just consider—Your life, Your sacrifice, Your Word.

I trust that what You give is real food. Amen.

WHOLE IN MIND

Name the Resistance

Take 2–3 minutes and ask:What teaching of Jesus challenges my comfort or control?”

Resistance reveals where surrender is needed.

HEALTHY IN BODY

The Fasted Exchange

As you continue fasting or skipping a meal:

When hunger hits:

  1. Pause

  1. Pray

  2. Read a Scripture

Say quietly:Jesus, I receive You fully.”

Let hunger remind you that dependence brings life.

Closing Posture

Many walked away because the teaching was hard. But life is found not in comfort—it is found in surrender. Jesus is not a supplement. He is sustenance.
