Scripture:

“So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.” — 2 Thessalonians 2:15

Devotional Thought:

So many people today are obsessed with what’s next. What’s the next headline? What’s the next war? Who’s the next antichrist? The end times?

But the point of our Looking for a Sign series is this: we need to stop looking for what might happen next and start paying attention to what’s already been fulfilled.

The signs are here. They’ve already come. Jesus fulfilled hundreds of prophecies — about His birth, His life, His death, and His resurrection. These weren’t vague or generic predictions. These were specific, verifiable, and — thanks to archaeology, history, and eyewitnesses — confirmed.

In Sunday’s message, we were reminded of something critical: our job is not to speculate, it’s to testify. Jesus gave His disciples the job of sharing the signs — and that includes us.

We don’t need to wait for the “big moment” or a degree in theology. What we need is:

  • A willingness to learn
  • A heart to share
  • And eyes to see what God has already done

You don’t need to memorize every prophecy or quote ancient historians from memory. But you do need to begin the journey of knowing your faith more deeply — because people have real questions. And we’re called to give real answers.

Reflect:

  • Are you more interested in what might happen next… or what has already happened through Jesus?
  • What’s one fulfilled sign of Jesus that stood out to you from Sunday’s message?

Action Step:

Take 5 minutes today and read Isaiah 53 — a prophecy written 700 years before Jesus was born. Make a note of every verse that describes Jesus' life, death, or resurrection. Then read John 19 and see how it lines up.

Prayer:

Father, help me see the signs You’ve already given. Give me eyes to recognize fulfilled promises, a mind ready to learn, and a heart willing to share. Help me focus not on speculation but on salvation — the salvation You’ve already provided through Jesus. Amen.
