Scripture:
1 Corinthians 15:58 – “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
Psalm 112:6–7 (NIV) – “Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”
Devotional Thought:
If you’ve ridden the Struggle Bus long enough, you know it’s not a smooth ride.
Some days, the road is rocky.
Some days, you feel like the engine might quit.
And other days — if you’re honest — you wonder if you should just pull over and give up.
But here’s the truth: steadfast faith keeps the bus moving.
When Paul wrote to the Corinthian church, he wasn’t talking to people who had it easy. They were discouraged, divided, tired, and tempted to quit. Yet he tells them, “Be steadfast. Be immovable.”
Why?
Because their work — their faith, their obedience, their perseverance — was not in vain.
The same is true for you.
God sees every ounce of effort you give in the struggle — every prayer whispered in exhaustion, every moment you choose faith over fear, every time you love and serve even when you’re hurting.
Steadfastness isn’t glamorous. It’s not loud or flashy.
It’s showing up — again and again — when everything in you says, “I can’t.”
It’s standing firm when the winds of worry blow.
It’s trusting that God is still good, even when life isn’t.
Psalm 112 reminds us that a steadfast heart “has no fear of bad news.”
Why? Because it’s anchored in something (or rather, Someone) unshakable.
When your heart is rooted in the Lord, the storms may rage, but you don’t have to be swept away.
So, when life gets rough and the bus feels like it’s running on fumes — don’t bail out.
Grip the wheel.
Steady your heart.
And remember: this road leads somewhere glorious.
Reflection Questions:
Prayer:
Lord, when life feels heavy and hope feels distant, remind me that You are my strength and my steadiness.
Help me stand firm when I want to give up.
Anchor me in Your Word and in Your promises.
Let my faith remain steadfast, my heart unshaken, and my trust in You unmovable.
May my endurance bring You glory, and may others see Your faithfulness through my perseverance.
Amen.
Daily Practice:
Find a verse today that reminds you to stay steadfast — write it down, memorize it, or set it as your phone wallpaper.
When discouragement hits, speak it out loud and declare it over your situation.
Example:
“Surely the righteous will never be shaken.” (Psalm 112:6)
Let that truth fuel your faith and keep you steady — mile after mile — on the Struggle Bus
