HOLY IN SPIRIT

Scripture

John 3:1–3 - “There was a man from the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Him at night and said, ‘Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher, for no one could perform these signs You do unless God were with him.’ Jesus replied, ‘I assure you: Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’”

Romans 5:12 - “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all men, because all sinned.”

Slow Read (Sit With the Text)

Read John 3:1–3 three times, slowly.

  • First reading: Notice who Nicodemus is and when he comes.

  • Second reading: Notice what Nicodemus believes about Jesus—and what he does not yet say.

  • Third reading: Sit with Jesus’ words: “Unless someone is born again…”

Do not rush past them. Sit in silence for one full minute.

Heart Questions

  • What assumptions about God, faith, or salvation have I carried for a long time?

  • Where might my knowledge or experience be keeping me from full belief?

  • Do I want to understand God—or do I want to surrender to Him?

Let these questions search you without defending yourself.

Spiritual Insight

Nicodemus comes with: knowledge, respect, & curiosity But Jesus doesn’t affirm his credentials. He confronts his condition.

Being “born again” is not about improving the life you were given. It’s about receiving a new life entirely. You don’t need better information. You need transformation. And transformation begins where belief replaces control.

Prayer
Jesus, I confess that I often want You to affirm what I already know instead of change who I already am. Today, I bring You my assumptions, my defenses, and my resistance.  If there is anything in me that must die so new life can begin, give me the courage to surrender it. I don’t want to just see Your kingdom from a distance. I want to be made new so I can enter it. Teach me what it means to believe—not just agree. Amen.

WHOLE IN MIND

Name the Resistance
Take 2–3 minutes and answer honestly: What part of my life resists being changed?”

Do not correct your answer. Awareness is the first act of surrender.

HEALTHY IN BODY

The Reset Posture
Once today, stop for 5 intentional minutes.

  • Sit or stand with your feet planted firmly.

  • Place both hands open on your lap or at your sides.

  • Take slow, deep breaths.

With each inhale, pray silently: Spirit, give me new life.”

With each exhale, pray: I release control.”

Let your body practice surrender before your mind catches up.

Closing Posture
Nicodemus came at night—uncertain, guarded, searching. Jesus met him there.
You don’t have to arrive fully convinced. You just have to be willing to believe.
