HOLY IN SPIRIT

Scripture

John 1:38–39 - “What are you looking for?” Jesus asked. They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are You staying?” “Come and you’ll see,” He replied.

Psalm 27:4 - “I have asked one thing from the Lord… to gaze on the beauty of the Lord.”

Slow Read (Lectio-style)

Read John 1:38–39 three times, slowly.

  • First reading: Listen for a word or phrase that stands out.
  • Second reading: Pay attention to what Jesus is asking—not saying.
  • Third reading: Imagine yourself standing where the disciples stood when He asked,
    “What are you looking for?”

Sit in silence for 60 seconds.

Heart Questions -  Don’t rush to fix your answers. Let them surface.

  • What am I actually seeking right now—relief, control, clarity, comfort, approval?

  • If Jesus asked me this question today, what would my honest answer be?

  • Where have I been looking for things only He can give?

Prayer

Jesus, You see past my words and into my desires. You know what I say I want—and what I actually chase. Today, I bring You my honest answer, not my spiritual one. Search me. Expose what doesn’t lead to life. Teach me to want You more than outcomes, more than solutions, more than success. I don’t want to run ahead of You this year. I want to follow. So today, I come… and I’m willing to see. Amen.

WHOLE IN MIND

Name the Desire

Take 2 minutes and write or think through this sentence:
“If I’m honest, what I want most right now is…”

No shame. No editing. Awareness invites transformation.

HEALTHY IN BODY

The Dust of the Rabbi: Take a 10–15 minute walk today.
As you walk, repeat quietly: “Jesus, I choose to follow You today.”

Let your body reinforce what your heart is choosing.

Closing Invitation

Don’t try to answer tomorrow’s questions today. Following Jesus begins with honesty—and continues with obedience.
