REMINDER #13 – GOD USES THE WILDERNESS TO RESHAPE IDENTITY
Read Scripture: Exodus 2:15–22; 3:1
(Moses flees to Midian and begins a completely different life. He forms a family, lives under Jethro’s guidance, and becomes a shepherd—far removed from the identity he once carried in Egypt.)
Reality: The wilderness is not wasted—it’s where God does His deepest work in you. Moses entered the wilderness as a man shaped by power, control, and failure. But over time, God began to reshape him—teaching him how to care, provide, protect, and lead differently. What felt like loss was actually preparation. God will often remove you from what formed you so He can rebuild you into who you were meant to be.
Response:
What has God removed or changed in your life that you didn’t expect?
Where might God be reshaping you instead of punishing you?
What is He trying to teach you in your current season?
Reaction:
Stop resisting the season you’re in. Ask God, “What are You trying to form in me?”
Lean into the process instead of rushing past it.
Be faithful in the small things God has placed in front of you.
Reinforcement: James 1:2–4 – “Consider it a great joy… whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance…”
GOD USES THE PROCESS TO SHAPE YOU—DON’T WASTE THE WILDERNESS.
2x2 Check:
Tell your 2x2 one area where God is shaping you—and commit to leaning into it instead of resisting it.
