reminder #5 – god still pursues you in the wilderness

Read Scripture: Genesis 3:8–9; 3:21–23

(After sin, Adam and Eve hide in shame. But God comes looking for them, calls out to them, and even provides covering for them before sending them out of the garden.)

Reality: Sin leads you into the wilderness—but God doesn’t leave you there. Adam and Eve hid, but God pursued. They were ashamed, but God covered them. Even in consequence, God’s presence and provision remained. This is the tension of the wilderness: there are real consequences for sin, but there is also real mercy. God doesn’t abandon you in your failure—He meets you in it and calls you back to Himself.

Response:

  • Where have you been hiding from God?

  • What shame or guilt is keeping you distant from Him?

  • Are you running from God—or allowing Him to meet you where you are?

Reaction: Stop hiding—go to God honestly right now. Confess what you’ve been carrying.

Receive His forgiveness instead of sitting in shame. Step back toward Him today—don’t stay distant.

Reinforcement: 1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

GOD DOESN’T JUST EXPOSE SIN—HE FORGIVES AND RESTORES WHEN YOU COME TO HIM.
