Scripture:

Exodus 3:7-8

“Then the Lord said, ‘I have observed the misery of My people in Egypt, and have heard them crying out because of their oppressors, and I know about their sufferings. I have come down to rescue them.’”

Devotional:

One of the most comforting truths in Scripture is that God hears our cries. The Israelites endured generations of hardship and slavery, yet their pain never went unnoticed. God saw their tears, heard their groans, and was moved by their suffering.

It can sometimes feel like your pain goes unseen or unheard. You might even wonder if God notices your struggle or hears your prayers at all. Today’s passage reveals a beautiful truth: God is intimately aware of your pain. He knows exactly what you're going through, and He is not indifferent or distant.

In Exodus, God not only heard His people's cries—He took action. He moved to rescue them from their oppressors. While God’s timing might feel slow to us, His timing is always perfect. He knows exactly when and how to step in.

Hold tightly to this truth today: God sees your tears. He hears your prayers. He knows your suffering. You are not forgotten. You are seen, known, and loved by the God who rescues.

Questions for Reflection:

  1. Is there an area of your life where you're struggling to believe that God hears your cries?
  2. How would your prayers change if you truly believed God is listening?

Prayer:

God, sometimes it feels like You are distant from my pain. Remind me today that You see every tear and hear every prayer. Strengthen my faith to trust that Your rescue will come at exactly the right time. Thank You for caring deeply about my struggles. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Daily Application:

Take a few minutes today to honestly share your pain with God. Don’t hold back—pour out your heart fully, trusting that He hears every word. Then spend time listening quietly, allowing Him to comfort your heart.
