HOLY IN SPIRIT

John 5:37–38 - “The Father who sent Me has Himself testified about Me. You have not heard His voice at any time, and you haven’t seen His form.  You don’t have His word living in you, because you don’t believe the One He sent.”

Colossians 3:16 - “Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you…”

Slow Read

Read John 5:37–38 three times, slowly.

  • First reading: Notice what Jesus says is missing.

  • Second reading: Notice the connection between belief and God’s Word living within someone.

  • Third reading: Sit with this phrase: You don’t have His word living in you…”

Remain silent for one full minute.

Heart Questions

  • Does God’s Word merely visit my life—or does it live there?

  • Where have I allowed Scripture to become information instead of formation?

  • What might it look like for God’s Word to shape my reactions, choices, and priorities?

Let the Spirit examine gently, not harshly.

Spiritual Insight

Jesus doesn’t accuse them of never hearing Scripture. He says the Word does not live in them.

You can: read the Word, quote the Word, teach the Word …and still keep it at arm’s length.

God’s Word lives in us when belief gives it permission to rearrange our lives.

Prayer

Father, I confess how often I let Your Word pass through my mind without ever settling into my heart. I don’t want Scripture to be something I visit occasionally. I want it to dwell within me—to shape how I live, think, and respond. Make Your Word alive in me. Let it confront me, comfort me, and guide me. I believe—help Your Word take root.

Amen.

WHOLE IN MIND

Name the Loudest Voice

Take 2–3 minutes and ask:

What shapes my thinking more than God’s Word?”

What lives in you will lead you.

HEALTHY IN BODY

The Acted Response

Once today, take 5–10 intentional minutes to act on something you’ve heard.

1. Listen

Ask: What truth from Scripture is God inviting me to live out today?”

2. Act

Take one physical step that aligns with that truth.

3. Name It

Afterward, say: I heard, and I obeyed.”

Closing Posture

The goal is not just to hear God’s Word— it is to become a place where it lives.

When the Word lives in you, obedience follows naturally.
