HOLY IN SPIRIT
John 12:26 - “If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me. Where I am, there My servant also will be. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.”
Philippians 2:8–9 - “He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death—even to death on a cross. For this reason God highly exalted Him…”
Slow Read (Following Into Glory)
Read John 12:26 three times, slowly.
• First reading: Notice the order: serve → follow → honor.
• Second reading: Notice where following Jesus leads—where He is.
• Third reading: Sit with this phrase: “Where I am, there My servant also will be.”
Remain silent for one full minute. Let the weight of proximity settle.
Heart Questions

Reflection |
|
Do I want the honor of God without walking the path of Jesus?
|
|
Where is Jesus leading that feels uncomfortable or costly?
|
|
Am I willing to follow Him not just into blessing—but into surrender?
|
Let the Spirit expose expectations gently.
Spiritual Insight
Service is not separate from following. Following is not separate from surrender. Jesus was lifted up on a cross, lifted up from the grave, lifted up into glory. But before He was lifted up—He yielded. The Father honored the Son not because He avoided suffering but because He obeyed through it. To serve Jesus is to walk His path: yield, die, rise, bear fruit, bring glory. Honor follows obedience—not applause.
Prayer
Father, I confess that I want the honor of being close to You without walking the road that leads there. Teach me to follow Jesus fully—not only when it feels rewarding, but when it requires surrender. If serving You means dying to pride, control, or comfort, give me courage to step forward. I want to be where You are. Amen.
WHOLE IN MIND — Name the Path
Take 2–3 minutes and ask:
“Where might following Jesus require something from me this week?”
Following always moves.
HEALTHY IN BODY — The Voluntary Sacrifice
Today you will choose something physical to lay down. Not because it is sinful. Not because it is extreme. But because surrender requires practice.
Choose one:
|
Options |
|
Wake up 30 minutes earlier for prayer instead of sleep comfort |
|
Skip one comfort food or drink |
|
Take a cold shower and pray through surrender |
|
Serve someone physically in a way that costs you energy |
|
Give away something you value |
|
Cancel one unnecessary commitment to create margin with God |
As you do it, say: “I am not controlled by comfort.”
Notice what your body says:
|
Body’s Voice: “You deserve this.” “This is unnecessary.” “You’ve done enough.” |
That voice often resists surrender. This is not about self-punishment. It is about training. Yielding spiritually becomes easier when your body learns it does not rule you.
Closing Posture
You cannot follow Jesus from a distance. To serve Him is to go where He goes. And the path of surrender always leads to glory.
