Deuteronomy 11:7-9, 26-28 - Your own eyes have seen every great work the Lord has done. 8 “Keep every command I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to cross into and possess the land you are to inherit, 9 and so that you may live long in the land the Lord swore to your fathers to give them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey. 26 “Look, today I set before you a blessing and a curse: 27 there will be a blessing, if you obey the commands of the Lord your God I am giving you today, 28 and a curse, if you do not obey the commands of the Lord your God and you turn aside from the path I command you today by following other gods you have not known.
FORGETTING THE WONDERS GOD PERFORMED IN THE PAST LEADS US INTO WORRY-DRIVEN WANDERING IN THE PRESENT.
1 Corinthians 10:1-5,11 - Now I want you to know, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, all passed through the sea, 2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 3 They all ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ. 5 But God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the wilderness. 11 Now these things happened to them as examples, and they were written as a warning to us, on whom the ends of the ages have come.
Matthew 15:32-34 - 32 Now Jesus summoned His disciples and said, “I have compassion on the crowd, because they’ve already stayed with Me three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away hungry; otherwise they might collapse on the way.” 33 The disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in this {WILDERNESS} desolate place to fill such a crowd?” 34 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked them. “Seven,” they said, “and a few small fish.”
WHEN WE WORRY AND OUR FAITH FALTERS, GOD STILL PROVIDES.
Deuteronomy 8:2-7,11 2 Remember that the Lord your God led you on the entire journey these 40 years in the wilderness, so that He might humble you and test you to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commands. 3 He humbled you by letting you go hungry; then He gave you manna to eat, which you and your fathers had not known, so that you might learn that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. 4 Your clothing did not wear out, and your feet did not swell these 40 years. 5 Keep in mind that the Lord your God has been disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son. 6 So keep the commands of the Lord your God by walking in His ways and fearing Him. 7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land...
GOD’S FAITHFULNESS NEVER FALTERS & HIS WONDERS NEVER CEASE.
WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PREVENT FEAR OR WORRY FROM CREEPING IN, BUT WE CAN CHOOSE TO SURRENDER IT TO GOD.
Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.”
