REMINDER #24 – EXAMINE YOUR WILDERNESS
Read Scripture: Psalm 139:23–24; 2 Corinthians 13:5
(David asks God to search his heart and reveal anything offensive, while Paul urges believers to examine themselves to see whether they are in the faith.)
Reality: You don’t accidentally grow in the wilderness—you have to examine it. The wilderness will either shape you or stall you depending on your awareness. If you don’t slow down and ask what God is doing, you can miss it entirely. At the same time, the enemy is not passive—he is strategic. He studies your patterns, your weaknesses, your tendencies, and tempts you accordingly. Without awareness, you’ll keep repeating the same cycles. But when you begin to examine your life honestly—how you got here, what God is teaching you, and how you’re being tempted—you position yourself for real growth instead of repeated failure.
Response:
How did you get to the season you’re currently in?
What might God be trying to teach or shape in you right now?
Where do you see patterns of temptation or struggle repeating?
Reaction: Slow down and take an honest inventory of your life. Invite God to reveal what needs to change. Identify patterns—not just moments—of struggle. Make intentional adjustments instead of repeating cycles.
Reinforcement: Psalm 139:23–24 – “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me…”
GROWTH BEGINS WITH HONEST EXAMINATION—INVITE GOD INTO IT.
2x2 Check: Share with your 2x2 what God is revealing—and commit to one change moving forward.
