In the opening lines of Scripture, we are introduced to God as "Elohim," a name signifying His majesty and supreme power in creating the universe. This plural form, while emphasizing the majesty of God, also hints at the complex unity of the Trinity—God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 10:17 proclaims Yahweh as the Elohim of elohim, the Lord of lords, establishing His authority over all. As we navigate a world that constantly presents us with a multitude of 'elohim'—forces, ideologies, and even people vying for our devotion—we are called to recognize and serve only the Creator Elohim.

Let us hold fast to the truth that our God is above all gods, and let our lives reflect a commitment to serve Him exclusively, forsaking the worship of the created for the Creator.

Reflection Questions
How does acknowledging God as Elohim of elohim affect your view of worldly powers and authorities?
What are some 'created elohim' that you need to dethrone in your life to serve the Creator more fully?

Closing Prayer
Sovereign Elohim, we acknowledge You as the Creator of all. Help us to serve You with undivided hearts, resisting the temptation to elevate any of the created 'elohim' above You. May our worship be pleasing in Your sight. Amen.
