HOLY IN SPIRIT

John 15:16 - “I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.”

John 14:13–14 - “Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”

Slow Read (Appointed to Go)

Read John 15:16 three times, slowly.

First reading: Notice who appointed you.

Second reading: Notice the purpose — go and produce fruit.

Third reading: Sit with this phrase: “That your fruit should remain.”

Remain silent for one full minute.

Let permanence replace performance.

Heart Questions

Reflection

Do I see serving as occasional — or as appointed?

Is my serving reactive, or rooted in identity?

Am I building temporary moments — or lasting fruit?

Let the Spirit deepen your understanding.

Spiritual Insight

Jesus did not invite His disciples into random acts of kindness. He appointed them. Serving is not a hobby in the Kingdom. It is a calling rooted in identity. John 13 established the Son’s posture — humility. John 14:12 established the Spirit’s power — works. John 14:13–14 established the Father’s provision — prayer. This is the triune God working in us and through us. The assurance of works is not pressure to perform. It is promise that the Spirit empowers what God appoints. When you serve from surrender, fruit grows. And when fruit grows from humility, it remains.

Prayer

Father, You have appointed me.

Not to comfort.

Not to position.

Not to applause.

But to fruit that remains.

Anchor my identity in service.

Let my works reflect humility.

Let my asking align with Your will.

Use me in ways that last beyond this moment.

Amen.

WHOLE IN MIND — Examine the Calling

Take 2–3 minutes and ask:

“Where has God already positioned me to serve consistently?”

Possible Arenas

Local church

Family

Workplace

Community

Friendships

Quiet prayer ministry

Serving is rarely about searching for somewhere new.

It’s about surrendering where you already are.

HEALTHY IN BODY — Commit to Ongoing Humble Service

This week you practiced posture.

You served in inconvenience.

You served without recognition.

You served when it cost you.

Today is about consistency.

Choose one ongoing rhythm of service.

Commitment

Join or recommit to a church serving role

Serve your family intentionally and consistently

Set a weekly time to help someone

Commit to a prayer or encouragement rhythm

Volunteer in a ministry that stretches you

Write it down.

Not emotionally.

Not impulsively.

Intentionally.

Say quietly:

“I am appointed to serve.”

Serving is not a season.

It is evidence.

Closing Posture

You have followed.

You have believed.

You have listened.

You have hungered.

You have yielded.

Now you serve.

Not to earn love.

Not to prove worth.

But because the Spirit lives in you.

And a servant is not greater than his Master.
