Scripture:
Exodus 3:7-8
“Then the Lord said, ‘I have observed the misery of My people in Egypt and have heard them crying out because of their oppressors. I know about their sufferings, and I have come down to rescue them...’”
Devotional:
Sometimes, when suffering hits, we’re tempted to believe God is distant or silent. But the Exodus story reveals a powerful truth: God hears our cries, sees our struggles, and cares deeply. He’s not a passive observer—He’s actively involved, listening and responding in His perfect timing.
The Israelites cried out for generations, yet God's answer didn't come immediately. Instead, it came at exactly the right time. God was orchestrating events, preparing Moses, and arranging circumstances to bring about a deliverance far greater than anyone imagined.
Right now, you might feel stuck—wondering if God is hearing your prayers. Take heart from the story of the Exodus: He sees every tear, He hears every prayer, and He has a rescue plan already in motion. It may not happen how you imagined, but God’s answer will be greater than you could ask or think.
Questions for Reflection:
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You are never blind to my suffering or deaf to my prayers. Help me trust that You’re already working on my behalf, even if I can’t yet see it. Today, renew my faith and remind me that You are near, You are good, and You will deliver. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Daily Application:
Take time today to bring your deepest struggle directly to God in prayer. Write it down, share it with Him honestly, and believe that He hears you—and is already moving toward your rescue.
