HOLY IN SPIRIT
Scripture
John 3:9–12 - “How can these things be?” asked Nicodemus. “Are you a teacher of Israel and don’t know these things?” Jesus replied. “I assure you: We speak what We know and We testify to what We have seen, but you do not accept Our testimony. If I have told you about things that happen on earth and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about things of heaven?”
Proverbs 3:5 - “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.”
Slow Read (Sit With the Text)
Read John 3:9–12 slowly, twice.
First reading: Listen to Nicodemus’ question: “How can these things be?”
Second reading: Listen to Jesus’ response—not harsh, but revealing.
Now sit quietly and repeat: “You do not accept Our testimony.”
Let that phrase settle without defensiveness.
Heart Questions
Where am I still asking “How?” when Jesus is inviting me to believe?
What part of my faith feels stuck because I insist on full understanding?
Do I trust God only when His ways align with my logic or experience?
Let the Spirit identify—not accuse.
Spiritual Insight
Nicodemus’ struggle is not intelligence—it’s acceptance.
Jesus makes a sharp distinction:
What We know → the natural, the familiar, the explainable
What We have seen → the heavenly, the spiritual, the revealed
Nicodemus accepts what fits his framework. He resists what challenges it.
Faith does not begin when questions disappear. It begins when trust outweighs explanation.
Prayer
Jesus, I confess how often I want You to fit inside my understanding. I accept what feels reasonable and resist what stretches me. Today, I lay down my demand for full comprehension. I surrender the questions I use as shields. Teach me to trust Your testimony, even when it confronts my assumptions, even when it unsettles my certainty.
I choose belief over control. Amen.
WHOLE IN MIND
Name the Resistance
Take 2–3 minutes and answer honestly:
“What belief or worldview am I protecting that God may be challenging?”
You don’t have to resolve it today. You just have to acknowledge it.
HEALTHY IN BODY
The Reset Posture
Pause once today for 5 intentional minutes.
Sit upright or stand still.
Open your hands.
Slow your breathing.
With each inhale, pray: “God, I trust You.”
With each exhale, pray: “I release my need to understand.”
Let your body practice surrender.
Closing Posture
Nicodemus asked the right question—but he was asking it from the wrong place.
Belief doesn’t erase questions. It relocates authority.
