25 “I ASSURE YOU” STATEMENTS IN JOHN’S GOSPEL

MAKE YOURSELF: HEAR - HUNGER - HOLY - HEAVEN-BOUND - HUMBLE - HONEST – HIS
Proverbs 16:9 - “A person’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps.”
Matthew 6:34 - “Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Lamentations 3:22–24 - “Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! The Lord is my portion; therefore I will put my hope in Him.”
John 1:38–39, - “What are you looking for?” They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are You staying?” Jesus replied, “Come and you’ll see.”
John 1:43–51 - Jesus found Philip and told him, “Follow Me!” 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him…. “Come and see...” 47 Then Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him and said about him, “Here is a true Israelite; no deceit is in him.” 48 “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you,” Jesus answered. 49 “Rabbi,” Nathanael replied, “You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” 50 Jesus responded to him, “Do you believe only because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” 51 Then He said, “I assure you: You will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
THIS FIRST ASSURANCE IS AN INVITATION TO FOLLOW HIM AND TO EXPERIENCE GREATER THINGS.
TWO PROPHETIC VISIONS. TWO MASSIVE DECLARATIONS.
JESUS DECLARES HIMSELF AS THE LADDER. THE CONNECTION BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH.
John 3:14-16 - 13 No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven —the Son of Man.… the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. 16 “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
JESUS DECLARES HIMSELF THE SON OF MAN. THE ONE WHO WOULD USHER IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.
Daniel 7:13–14 - “I continued watching in the night visions, and I saw One like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He was given authority to rule, and glory, and a kingdom; so that those of every people, nation, and language should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.”
ASSURANCE — IF YOU CHOOSE TO FOLLOW JESUS DAILY, YOU WILL SEE GREATER THINGS.
