REMINDER #14 – GOD FOCUSES ON YOUR FUTURE, NOT YOUR PAST

Read Scripture: Exodus 3:1–6, 10–12

(After years in the wilderness as a shepherd, God appears to Moses in the burning bush and calls him to go back to Egypt. Moses questions himself—“Who am I?”—and God responds, “I will be with you.”)

Reality: God doesn’t define you by your past—He calls you from who you are becoming. Moses saw a murderer, a failure, someone unqualified to lead. But God saw a man shaped in the wilderness, ready to be used. When God calls you, He doesn’t point to your past—He points to His presence. The question isn’t “Who am I?” The answer is “God is with me.” Your identity is not rooted in what you’ve done—but in who God is with you.

Response:

  • Where are you letting your past define how you see yourself?

  • What is God calling you toward that you feel unqualified for?

  • Do you believe God is with you—or are you still questioning your worth?

Reaction:

Stop rehearsing your past failures. Replace “Who am I?” with “God is with me.”

Take one step toward what God is calling you to do.

Move forward in obedience, not insecurity.

Reinforcement: Exodus 3:12 – “I will certainly be with you.”

GOD’S PRESENCE IS YOUR QUALIFICATION—WALK IN IT TODAY.

2x2 Check:

Tell your 2x2 where you feel unqualified—and choose to step forward anyway.
